Products from Eternal Ink
In the 1980s, there were at most twelve basic colors that tattoo artists could combine. Black was the dominant pigment with sparsely added colors. The story of Eternal Ink begins in 1976 with Terry Welker. Terry is an autodidactic tattoo artist in traditional style. He tattooed for several years before opening his first studio, Eternal Tattoos in Detroit, Michigan.
First, he began hand-mixing a series of consistent tattoo colors for the tattoo artists in his studio. In 1998 he created his own color palette. In the following years the popularity of Terry Welkers tattoo ink grew. Tattoo artists and his industry friends wanted more ink and more colors. The tattoo colour recipe was improved, developed further and expanded to a wide range of tattoo colours.
Finally, mixing color grew into a successful business and took on a life of its own. In 2004, Eternal Ink, Inc. was founded in the USA to manufacture tattoo ink for tattoo artists. Terry Welker's original color palette has expanded to more than 200 Eternal Ink colors sold worldwide.
Eternal Ink is now produced under strict hygienic conditions. It conforms to the German Tattoo Regulation and is marketable for Europe according to Resolution ResAP(2008)1.
Eternal Ink tattoo colours are available in 30ml colour bottles. Some colours are also available in 60ml, 120ml or 240ml.
